St. Martin Sheriff Ronny Theriot defeated three challengers to win a fourth term. He polled 57 percent of the vote. Corey Broussard got 3 percent, Albert “Buz” LeBlanc 32 percent and Brian P. Theriot 8 percent.
Official Trick or Treat in St. Martin Parish will be 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 – Halloween night.
Beginning Monday, Oct. 26, until Thursday, Dec. 3, Interstate10 will have full and intermittent single lane closures between Henderson and Ramah to allow crews to perform inspections on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The following arrests and/or citations were reported in St. Martin Parish from Monday, Oct. 12, through Sunday, Oct. 18.
Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Friday evening received a 911 call in reference to a male subject that was reported to have fallen through a roof at the Exxon Station in the 2900 block of Grand Point Hwy in Breaux Bridge. Minutes later, a second 911 call came in reporting a hit and run at the same location.

Charles, Carlos, 38, Youngsville; manufacture, distribution, possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, distribution of drug paraphenalia, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, St. Martinville Police Department (SMPD).
The Town Council Monday agreed to contribute $2,500 to the parish Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program.
Mayor Sherbin Collette called the amount of the contribution a “starting point.”
Councilman Bill LeGrand asked that the contribution be given with the understanding that it be used for Meals on Wheels only.
