Top Job open at parish COA

At the June 18 regular monthly meeting of the St. Martin Council on Aging, board members accepted the resignation of Lynette Edwards, who was named COA executive director Feb. 3, 2014. Applications for her replacement are being accepted immediately. Deadline to submit a resume in a sealed envelope is 3 p.m.

Cecilia baseball organization donates money for new restrooms in park

Cecilia Youth Sports Association, the area’s youth baseball program, presented Parish Government with a check for $50,000 toward new restrooms at Paul Angelle Park.
Todd Dugas, representing the organization, said the money was accumulated over a half-dozen years by pinching pennies.
