St. Martin deputy indicted on second degree murder

A St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputy, Crystal Alexander, has been indicted for second degree murder in the shooting death of her husband, Kendall Alexander, 34.
The grand jury returned a verdict Thursday afternoon.
Alexander was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center amid high security due to her status as a law enforcement officer.
Louisiana State Police investigated the Dec. 29, 2013, shooting, which occurred at the couple’s home in Breaux Bridge.
Alexander, 34, has been on administrative leave since the incident.
