I had a first last week. I went to the middle school in Pierre Part to take a few pictures and when I went to leave my car wouldn’t start. When I lifted the hood I could see the battery terminals were covered with corrosion and of course I had no wire brush, etc.

Rosanne Cash’s first album in more than four years is literally a work of art! Cash wrote the album’s 11 original songs with her longtime collaborator (and husband) John Leventhal, who also served as producer, arranger and guitarist.

The oil industry was in its infancy in 1901, when the Heywood brothers drilled the first Louisiana well near Jennings. They were soon producing tens of thousands of barrels of oil every day – the headline in the Jennings Daily Record on Oct. 28, said 148,000 barrels a day – and had so much oil on hand they didn’t know what to do with it.
