Every now and then I listen to an album that really has that something extra. Alexis Keegan’s new album is raw, real and edgy.

I don’t know what the current price of crawfish is to the fishermen, but it seems that people are starting to catch a few. When you drive along Highway 70 going to Pierre Part you pass almost all the crawfish buying stands and lately there are piles of purple sacks on most. Not huge piles, but until now there have been no piles at all.
Forty years ago, on March 26, 1974, despite a heavy downpour, “A Tribute to Cajun Music” brought more than 12,000 people to Blackham Coliseum in Lafayette.
It is going to be a very good year for Beck. His latest record, Morning Phase, has all the components to be his best yet.
Oh, he has had some memorable albums. And I must say that all of his albums so far are top notch. This one is along the lines of his 2002 release, Sea Change. By the way, Sea Change was a great record.
