Butte La Rose et Les Entourage
Bonjour!
Know that God answers us all in one way or another. Yesterday I was invited to a special 5:30 St. Joseph’s Lenten Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath. Invitation was made late morning and I had other appointments. But I wanted to go. I was still in Lafayette a little past five and headed that way but was bombarded in traffic and so I ran late. Youngsville’s area has changed a lot with new roads and so it got to where I got lost in my directions. I asked God please let me arrive in time that I receive Holy Communion for my son Steven.
I arrived in Erath almost on the time of 6. There were cars parked everywhere doubting I’d be able to find a parking spot close to church. Knowing how such sweet things don’t happen too often for me, this time to my grateful appreciation, a parking spot was vacant across from the church. I was able to pull up in the spot without having to struggle with backing in. A woman was standing outside of the church entrance and I asked her if Mass was still on. And she looked at her watch and said it is six!
Fearing I was too late I entered through the big door anyway and at that time saw Father Bill Melancon and Deacon Tim Marcantel walk down from the alter with their challis in hand while parishioners began lining up to receive the Body of Christ. I said; thank you Lord. Then when the people in the last row stood and as they walked toward the alter I followed and prayed what seemed like a hundred “Our Father’s” till I reached my turn to receive Steven’s Holy Communion. I then walked to a pew in the back of the church with tears of gratitude in my eyes and got on my knees and thanked God for granting my prayer and blessing my son again.
I then closed my eyes and cupped my hands over them. And appeared what I saw there in my closed eyes were the most beautiful glossy shades of royal blue colors. The dark blue shiny shades, with a few smaller lighter lines interacting blending the blue’s stirring inside the darker blue’s, a backwards and forward movement I saw happening. Like someone was there stirring the colors together special for my eyes. Royal blue, all so blue! I was on my knees for about three minutes thinking I’d not seen this before. The blue lasted till I open my eyes as the choir sang and I heard the people around me sit in their bench and I followed them.
The surprise of it all made me wonder: was this a message? As I was walking away from the church, I heard a child talking. I looked back and saw a boy about 6 years old walking with a cane and bouncing it around in front of his steps and I realized he was blind. I will tell this to Steven and tell him God touched him and will always be by his side.
The long wait for blacktopping of the levee road from Henderson to the Butte La Rose pontoon ramp is over and just in time for summer. The businesses along the road draws in a lot of boaters, fishermen, tourist, restaurant and entertainment on weekends. Where better than going back to nature in the Atchafalaya Basin?
Deputy Boudreaux pulled over Thibodeaux for driving erratic on the levee and driving drunk. Thib said; no Boud, I’m not drunk. I’m just trying to dodge all the pot holes!
Prayers to all! God bless America,
