An Article of Faith

In the fall of 1904 a revival broke out in Wales. During the next six months, 100,000 people gave their lives to Christ as Lord in a great spiritual awakening. No one organized the campaign. They did not use advertising, public relations, radio broadcasts, or great soul-winning and witnessing campaigns.

The price of crawfish is $3 a pound to the fishermen now so I’m assuming that nobody is catching very much. Every day I see trucks and trailers hauling boats heading to the landing but so far have heard nothing exciting. Fishermen say they’re looking around, once in a while saying they might have found a good spot – maybe.

An order of crawfish

Elks and Moose and Owls and Lambs all had fraternal orders in south Louisiana in March of 1913, but a critter that was already becoming iconic had none. That’s why some men in Abbeville decided it was time to create a social and fraternal organization recognizing the crawfish.
