It took some pushing to get the Good Times rolling

Louisiana has been the place to party on Mardi Gras since the first Europeans got here. On March 3, 1699, about 60 miles south of what is today New Orleans, Pierre le Moyne d’Iberville and a shipload of Frenchmen and Canadians pulled up to the marshy coastline, looking for a likely place to begin the colonization of Louisiana.

An Article of Faith

As a nation we desperately need revival – a fresh encounter with God that changes lives, behaviors, ethics, cultural norms, and even the structures of society itself. In spite of our prayers, fasting, repentance, and evangelistic efforts over the past decades, our nation seems to be moving further and further from God and His holy standards.

Baja St. Martin

The purple martins have returned. Not yet in numbers but the scouts, surely. As always, I hear their distinctive chirping long before I see them. I have 16 bird apartments ready for occupancy and have been a bit worried when some other birds seemed interested, but hope the arrival of the martins en masse will chase others away.
