Lake Charles Woman Charged With Bringing Contraband Into Jail

On Saturday, November 9, 2013, at approximately 9:55 a.m., Demita Kneeland, 27, Lake Charles, along with a male juvenile, were visiting an inmate at the St Martin Parish Correctional Center. During the course of the visitation, it was discovered that Ms. Kneeland attempted to conceal synthetic cannabinoids in a greeting card.

15 Graduate From St. Martin Sheriff's P.O.S.T. Academy

The 39th Session of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office P.O.S.T. Academy graduated 15 students in a ceremony held Tuesday, November 5, at the St. Martin Sheriff's training facility located on the Terrace Highway in St. Martinville. Relatives, friends and colleagues attended the event which drew roughly sixty attendees.

Way clear for new nursing home at Cade

A zoning change approved by the St. Martin Parish Council Tuesday clears the way for construction of a new, larger nursing home with all private rooms. Harold J.
