Lady Tigers offering softball camp

The St. Martinville Senior High Lady Tigers and coaches are hosting a softball camp for girls of all ages. The camp will take place June 8 through June 11, 9 a.m. to noon daily, at the Lady Tigers Field.

St. Martin Parish teams went 1-2 in the Lafayette Kiwanis Jamboree last week in Lafayette and Carencro.
Breaux Bridge claimed the parish’s only victory with an impressive 12-0 shutout of the Livonia Wildcats at Clark Field on Thursday.

The Breaux Bridge Tigers edged a strong Franklin team to take first place team honors at the Cajun Chef Relays held here last Friday.

The Bridge amassed 112½ points, just ahead of Franklin which collected 111.

District play rocky for parish teams

It was a rough week for St. Martin Parish baseball teams in District 5-4A action as Breaux Bridge, Cecilia and St. Martinville went a combined 1-6 in league outings.

Breaux Bridge notched the only victory of the week, topping parish rival St. Martinville 6-1 on Thursday, avenging an earlier 4-3 loss to The ’Ville.
