Cecilia’s Lady Bulldogs crushed their two parish rivals in District 5-4A softball action last week, blasting St. Martinville 20-1 on Thursday and then pounding Breaux Bridge 14-1 this past Monday.

The Breaux Bridge Tigers edged Cecilia 2-1 in District 5-4A baseball action last week but the Bulldogs derailed St. Martinville’s victory streak on Saturday by handing The ’Ville a 6-2 loss.

Last week was a rough one for St. Martin Parish high school baseball teams, with Breaux Bridge, Cecilia and St. Martinville playing a total of 10 games and managing only one win.

All three St. Martin Parish teams played in baseball tournaments this past weekend with mixed results.

St. Martinville recorded its first wins of the season by going 3-0 in the Grand Lake tournament, knocking off Welsh, Hamilton Christian and Lagrange.
