Lady ’Dogs pound Breaux Bridge, St. Martinville

Cecilia’s Lady Bulldogs crushed their two parish rivals in District 5-4A softball action last week, blasting St. Martinville 20-1 on Thursday and then pounding Breaux Bridge 14-1 this past Monday.

The wins helped erase the sour taste of a 11-3 loss to St. Thomas More last Tuesday. In non-district action Cecilia also coasted to a 19-0 shutout of Westminster Christian over the weekend.

The action left the Lady Bulldogs with an 18-9 overall record and a 7-3 district worksheet.

The loss to Cecilia was The ’Ville’s only defeat of the week as SM notched wins over Patterson and Breaux Bridge to improve to 7-13 and 5-4.

Despite the losses to Cecilia and St. Martinville Breaux Bridge’s Lady Tigers picked up their first win of the season, defeating Northside 10-4 last Thursday.

The Bridge owns a 1-15, 1-9 record.
