Cecilia 2-0 after blasting Vikings

Lafayette – The Bulldogs scored three times through the air and twice on the ground while limiting Northside to a single second quarter touchdown on their way to a 33-6 victory last Friday.
The second win of the young season marks the first time since 2009 that the ’Dogs open with a 2-0 worksheet.

St. Martinville Volleyball off to good start

St. Martinville Sr. High’s Lady Tigers got their 2015 volleyball campaign off to a stong start last week, topping Delcambre in the season opener and then winning three of four tournaments matches at Broadmoor on Saturday.

St. Martinville – Last Friday night at St. Martinville Sr. High’s Tiger stadium presented several firsts, not all of them good.
It was the school’s first game on the sparkling new artificial turf field and coach Vincent Derouen’s debut as the team’s new coach.

Bulldogs explode past Spartans

Cecilia – The resurgent Cecilia Bulldogs got their 2015 season off to a promising start, blasting the Class 5A Comeaux Spartans by 28-0 here last Friday.
The Bulldog offense cranked out an even 400 yards while the defensive unit turned in a strong effort, limiting the visitors to just 118 net yards.
