RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONIES were held at the first Trailhead on the Bayou Teche Paddle Trail on Thursday, Aug. 18 at Parc du Ponts in downtown Breaux Bridge. Local elected officials joined members of the TECHE Project for the dedication ceremony.

Petit Tour du Teche 2016

Young paddlers got a taste of kayak racing in Petit Tour du Teche at Parc des Ponts de Pont Saturday, Aug. 6.
Ranging from 250 yards to a mile in length, the races are staged around buoys. The racers are within view of the park at all times so that moms and dads and brothers and sisters can cheer them on.

Kayak races for kids Saturday, Aug. 6

Registration is open for Petit Tour du Teche, youth races in Bayou Teche at Parc des Ponts de Pont Breaux. The event is Saturday, Aug. 6.
Registration costs $20 and includes a T-shirt and lunch. Boats and other equipment are not provided. All paddlers must wear Coast Guard-approved PFDs.
