The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a 25-year-old St. Martinville man after he admitted to having inappropriate sexual conduct with a juvenile.
The Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a forum featuring the candidates for mayor Thursday, May 22, starting at 6 p.m.
It will take place in Breaux Bridge City Hall, corner of Berard and Bridge streets.
UPDATE: Williams turned herself in to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Wednesday afternoon. She was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and subsequently released on a $4,000 bond.
The right lane of the Interstate 10 Atchafalaya Basin bridge eastbound will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 8, for bridge inspection.
This is the same stretch where four 18-wheelers piled up Friday, killing two persons.
The City Council emerged from a closed, or executive, session Monday and voted to suspend Chief of Police Paula Smith for two days, docking her pay, for failing to provide council members with periodic written reports.
