Persons with loved ones missing will be anxiously awaiting the results of testing by LSU’s famed FACES lab of possible human remains found off a lonely stretch of road near here.
Someone on foot made the gristly find around 2 p.m. Friday, July 4, in a rural area off Lelan Road south of Henderson.
A dead man was found in a vehicle seen leaving the scene of a reported shooting here shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, according to a news release by the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office.
The identity of the victim had not been determined at presstime.
A St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputy, Crystal Alexander, has been indicted for second degree murder in the shooting death of her husband, Kendall Alexander, 34.
The grand jury returned a verdict Thursday afternoon.
