A corrections officer for the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office finds himself in jail, accused of smuggling marijuana into the cells.
An investigation into the presence of contraband inside the parish jail resulted in the arrest of Marshall Babineaux Jr., 22, of Breaux Bridge on Tuesday, June 3.
The following arrests and/or citations were reported in St. Martin Parish from Sunday, June 1, and Monday, June 2.
UPDATE: Breaux Bridge Investigators located Marcus Landry late last night in the Lafayette area and has been returned to his family.
UPDATE: "The missing juvenile has been located safely," reports SMPD Detective Lance Laviolette.
"The St Martinville Police would like thank everyone who assisted with this matter."

Monday, May 12
Dustin Bernard, 20, 1000 block of Earlene Dr., Breaux Bridge; failure to appear, warrant (SMSO).
Jace Deshotels, 33, Bunkie; simple burglary, St. Martin Sheriff's Office (SMSO).
