Investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office continue to piece together the circumstances they say led a Lafayette man to brutally murder an elderly woman and her daughter before torching their home Saturday afternoon.

Guidry, Giles, 29, Ville Platte; probation violation, Louisiana Probation and Parole (LP&P).
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a Ladies Handgun Safety Class March 29 and 30, 5:30-8 p.m., at the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Facility.
The training facility is located at 1815 Terrace Hwy., St. Martinville.
Environmental advocates like Harold Schoeffler and Ed Bulliard still want to see the I-49 south connector project moved out of Lafayette.
