Cecilia – Authorities are seeking help in identifying two men suspected in the Dec. 23 murder of Lionel Potier, 43. The attack occurred on Orchard Park Rd. near Cecilia.
Henderson – After five years of effort, the Evangeline Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America is the new owner of the recently-closed McGee’s Landing Restaurant and Basin Tours. The purchase tops off a commitment made in 2010 to introduce Scouts from around the world to the unique and threatened Atchafalaya Basin Swamp.
An Alexandria contractor has begun work on a $946,000 project that will replace Main Street sidewalks in downtown St. Martinville.
J.D Rebar & Construction Co. was awarded the contract for the work which is being funded mostly through federal and state grants.

St. John – The parish’s sugar cane farmers will be able to spend their Christmas holiday relaxing with family or out hunting with friends. The harvest season for the 2016 crop ended Monday when the last loads of cut cane were delivered to the LaSuCa mill here.
