Teen Challenge has opened its ninth center in Louisiana for the rehabilitation of substance abusers.
“ We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3), faith based, 12- to 14-month residential treatment facility that helps men with their substance abuse and other life controlling problems,” said Greg Dill, CEO of Louisiana Teen Challenge.

St. Martinville native recognized for service with Acadian

Melanie Olivier of St. Martinville was recently honored by Acadian Ambulance for her 21 years of service to the company.
Over the last two decades she has served as an EMT-Basic in Broussard, St. Martinville, and currently New Iberia.
Parks council looking at leash law

The Village Council last week introduced a proposed ordinance requiring pets to be vaccinated for rabies and imposing a $200 fine for failure to do so.
Council members also got a look at a measure dealing with a leash law and other constraints on pet owners.
