Parks council looking at leash law

The Village Council last week introduced a proposed ordinance requiring pets to be vaccinated for rabies and imposing a $200 fine for failure to do so.
Council members also got a look at a measure dealing with a leash law and other constraints on pet owners.
Krystal Ziegler, attorney for the village, said she will fashion a proposed leash-law ordinance after the mayor and council members have a chance to provide input.
A case against a Parks resident whose dog has allegedly bit people on two occasions is pending in district court.
The council is set to vote on the rabies ordinance at their next meeting on Aug. 12.
