Bulldogs come close in loss to Westgate

A missed field goal and a fourth quarter turnover ended up costing Cecilia as the Westgate Tigers escaped with a 28-18 District 5-4A victory here last Thursday. The Bulldogs trailed the Tigers by only 21-18 going into the final period.

Five Breaux Bridge defenders converge on a Northside ball carrier during last Friday’s 5-4A battle. The group includes Joseph Williams (2), Orel Ledet (15), Quinton Thibodeaux (36), Lamontre Huval (5) and Isayah Wiltz (38). The Tiger defense delivered 5 turnovers and a blocked punt in a 33-0 shutout victory.

Defense powers Breaux Bridge win over Northside

A fired up Tiger defense delivered five turnovers and limited Northside to less than 100 yards in a rousing 33-0 homecoming victory here last Friday.
And the Breaux Bridge attack delivered more than enough firepower, racing to a 21-0 halftime lead before coasting to the shutout win.

Cecilia running back Raymond Calais is brought down by two unidentified St. Martinville defenders. Calais, a sophomore, led the Bulldogs with 172 yards, inluding a 73-yard TD, but Cecilia came up short in a 35-28 loss.

St. Martinville’s 2nd half rally stuns ’Dogs

The two halves of last Friday’s intraparish showdown between Cecilia and St. Martinville were like two different games. The homestanding Bulldogs roared to a 28-7 halftime lead, piling up more than 200 rushing yards on the legs of Raymond Calais and Damon Patt.
