Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler is reminding Louisianians that the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 4 Open Primary/Congressional election is Monday, Oct. 6. This deadline is for citizens who have never registered to vote as well as voters who would like to make changes to their registration.

Last week the traffic coming from Bayou Pigeon way, Pierre Part and Morgan City was stopped for quite a while as a reputed explosive device found on a fence around Settoon Towing, a company on Hwy. 70 in Belle River was detonated. The whole incident has been kind of strange mostly for the lack of publicity and information.

On Sunday, Sept. 21, at approximately 5 p.m., Breaux Bridge police responded to a complaint of a hit and run at 1932 Rees St., the Walmart parking lot.
The suspect crashed into a parked vehicle on the parking lot of Walmart and left the scene.
