Maurice “Jun” Breaux, Jr.

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm, on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Maurice “Jun” Breaux, Jr., 84, who passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm on Wednesday and continue at 7:00 am until 11:30 am on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.

Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Bethany Duplechine and Bonnie Breaux Peden. Gift Bearers will be his grandchildren.

Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Saint Martinville.

Maurice was a member of the VA. He enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking, feeding people and caring for them. Mr. Breaux enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and his grandchildren. “Jun” enjoyed spending time at the family business Tracy Supply. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his son, Toby Breaux and his wife, Monica of New Iberia; his five daughters, Rosalie Breaux, Belinda Theriot and her husband, Lorne, Cardell Melancon and her husband John Beaugh, Rebecca “Becky” Latiolais and her husband, Kenneth all of St. Martinville, and Melissa Prejean and her husband, Jeremy of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Helen Besson and her husband, Ambrose of Grand Isle; his nine grandchildren, Cris Melancon, Marissa Breaux, Faith Breaux, Bradley LeBlanc, Jamie Guillot, Tracy Latiolais, Jake Theriot, Lance Theriot, Bentley Prejean; his three great-grandchildren, Juden Guillot, Ava Theriot, and, Briggs Theriot; and also his dog, Joe.

He is preceded in death by his father, Maurice Breaux, Sr.; his mother, Helen LeBlanc Breaux; his wife, Rosabelle Poirier Breaux; his brothers, Leonard Breaux, Daniel Breaux, Edward Breaux; and his sister, Rhona Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Cris Melancon, Bradley LeBlanc, Tracy Latiolais, Jake Theriot, Lance Theriot, and Mark Segura.
