Mary Joan Talley Courville

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted for Mrs. Robert Courville, the former Mary Joan Talley, 73, at 11 .a.m Saturday, December 28, 2013, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Fr. Stanley officiating.
Interment followed at Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 12 Midnight on Friday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home reopened at 7 a.m. on Saturday until service time.
A native of St. Martinville and resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Courville passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Robert P. Courville of Youngsville; one daughter, Mary “Tootie” Romero of New Iberia; step son, Robert Singleton of Broussard; two grandchildren, Ricky Romero and Kelly Daigle; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald Talley and David Talley of St. Martinville and Ted Talley of Parks; and four sisters, Pat Broussard and Diane Dugan, both of St. Martinville, Jackie Broussard of Parks and Vickie Jernigan of Charenton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis Joseph and Laura Thibodeaux Talley; brother, Louis Talley; niece, Jeanine Broussard; nephew, Dennis “DJ” Dugan; former husband, William “Bill” Nixon; and mother-in-law, Mary Louise Courville.
Pallbearers were Ricky Romero, Troy Daigle, Clint Dugan, Shane Picard, Johnny Broussard and Gary Talley.
Honorary Pallbearers were Ted Talley, Robert Singleton, Kurt Broussard and Erney Broussard.
