With little discussion, the St. Martin School Board rejected a recommendation that would have changed the system’s policy governing student conduct during the daily pledge of allegiance.
The St. Martin School Board expanded its footprint here last Thursday when it closed on a deal to purchase the Pellerin Insurance corporate building and its 2.34 acres of land on Rees Street for $1,775,00.
Projects being funded by two recent bond issues are expected to occupy a major portion of today’s meeting of the St. Martin School Board.
Board members will meet at 5 p.m. today (Wednesday) for their monthly session. The board’s finance committee has also set a meeting for 4 p.m.
At the July 5 City Council meeting, permission was given for two coordinated efforts to solicit much-needed donations of school supplies and uniforms.
Beginning in fall 2016, South Louisiana Community College will expand its Adult Education Program to St. Martinville at its new Evangeline Campus. Registration will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9.
