St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) course for women ages 16 and over
Dates: November 4th & 5th, 2015
(Must attend both days)
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Due to the extremely dry conditions within the state, State Fire Marshal, H. Butch Browning and, Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner, Mike Strain have issued a cease and desist order for all private burning, pursuant to authority under R.S. 40:1563.
The Town Council Monday agreed to contribute $2,500 to the parish Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program.
Mayor Sherbin Collette called the amount of the contribution a “starting point.”
Councilman Bill LeGrand asked that the contribution be given with the understanding that it be used for Meals on Wheels only.
The TECHE Project’s “Shake Your Trail Feather Festival” and “The Teche Fest” art walk and raffle benefitting the new Teche Center for the Arts in Breaux Bridge will converge here Saturday, Oct. 17, for a day of music and culture.
Tickets are available for An Evening with Martina McBride to take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 at Parc International in Downtown Lafayette.
