Bob Bienvenu, author, weighlifting champion, and an Acadiana Open Channel TV on-air personality, has written an autobiography, “From Light to Darkness to Glory,” the story of his descent from a Mayberry-style childhood in postwar St. Martinville into schizophrenia, drugs, bankruptcy, divorce, and a long string of menial jobs.

St. Martin Parish’s Kat Caillier has been named 2015 Race for the Cure Honoree and will be the Team New Balance Honorary Member for the Susan G. Komen Acadiana Race for the Cure, Saturday, March 21, in Downtown Lafayette.
Well, folks, tonight is the big night. The public hearing when the DNR representatives will hear a lot of people speak both for and against the proposal of FAS to have the levee here rezoned for heavy industrial. I will report on the meeting as I think others will also. Right now I’m just very nervous about the whole thing.
