Monday, Aug. 25, investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Kecyiel Warner, 18, of New Iberia, without incident in connection with the Aug. 18 shooting of a male subject on Russo Milazzo Road in St. Martinville.

Kedrick Broussard, 19, 300 block of Bridge St., St. Martinville; attempted 1st degree murder (SMSO).
Quincy Charles, 30, Lafayette; failure to appear, warrant (SMSO).
Michael Eudy, 30, 1000 block of Weatherford, Breaux Bridge; OWI, no seat belt Louisiana State Police (LSP).

At approximately 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call regarding a report of a male subject who was reported to be naked and wandering around the bathroom area of the Butte La Rose Welcome Center.
Deputies responded, but the subject had left the scene.

Lafayette General Health announced the addition of a new neurologist, Virginia Kellner.
Kellner joins Drs. David Weir, Damon Patterson and Adam Foreman at the Neuroscience Center of Acadiana.
Dr. Kellner is returning to Acadiana from St. Louis, Mo., where she completed her fellowship and residency.

The City Council put a stop to any further consideration of renaming a street to honor Willie Francis, a teenager sent to the electric chair in the 1940s not once but twice for the death of a local pharmacist.
