UPDATE: State Police explosive experts determined that the suspicious object that led to the evacuation of parts of Henderson Monday morning was a flashlight and other objects apparently combined to mimic a pipe bomb.

A wrecker drives away with the vehicle being driven by Daniel Benoit, 52, of Breaux Bridge, who died in a one-car crash shortly before 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office said Benoit was traveling east on Hebert Avenue in Breaux Bridge when he veered left off the roadway and struck a tree.
