ST. MARTIN PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING RECENT BURGLARIES

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, which has been investigating several home burglaries over the past two weeks, issued a public alert on Monday, Feb. 16.
"We would like to inform the residents that the majority of these burglaries are occurring during the daytime," said SMSO spokesperson Maj. Ginny Higgins.

2 men jailed in meth bust

St. Martinville – Narcotic agents with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, executing a search warrant, recovered a significant amount of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $20,000 and arrested two men at a residence on Dennis Drive in St. Martinville Thursday, Feb. 12.

Two SMSO narcs busted

Following a State Police investigation requested by the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office, two former SMSO narcotics agents were arrested last week on suspicion of committing perjury and falsifying arrest reports.
Brian Reyes, 30, of New Iberia, and John Brown, 42, of St. Martinville, already had been fired for undisclosed reasons.
