Lawyer accused of stealing from elderly client

ST. MARTINVILLE
A Baton Rouge attorney has been arrested on suspicion of theft over $500 for allegedly stealing items from an elderly client.
Stanley Stephen Spring, 63, was arrested this afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Task Force at his Baton Rouge law firm on Airport Avenue. He is currently being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail without bond and is awaiting extradition to St. Martin Parish.
The investigation by SMSO detectives following a report of possible financial abuse against an elderly St. Martin Parish man. A subsequent investigation was also completed by Elderly Protective Services.
