Noted rice farmer
CHENEYVILLE – Services will be Saturday in Eunice for noted rice farmer Austin “Will” Bollich. He died Feb. 5 at age 80.
He formerly worked at the Rice Experiment Station in Crowley and the Texas A&M Experiment Station in Beaumont, Texas. He was a rice and crawfish farmer for more than 40 years and was the International Rice Festival Louisiana Rice Farmer of the Year in 1984.
Survivors include his wife Sylvia and six children.
Arrangements are by John Kramer & Son.

Teacher, tennis champion
COTTONPORT – Services for teacher, author and champion amateur tennis player Marlene Thevenote will be Saturday. She died Feb. 5 at age 78.
She won several state tennis titles while a Cottonport High student and won a number of adult amateur championships, including many with her husband Billy.
Survivors include several children.
Arrangements are by Escude.

La. Tech All-American gridder
RUSTON – Services for Louisiana Tech Sports Hall of Fame member Mike Reed will be Saturday. He died Feb. 6 at age 88.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was the first Tech football player to be named a Little All-American twice, in 1946 and 1947, as an offensive and defensive lineman. He was named a member of La. Tech’s football Team of the Century. He operated a sawmilling business.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Kilpatrick.

Aerospace engineer
NEW ORLEANS – Services will Saturday for aerospace engineer Madison “Ducky” Drake. He died Feb. 3.
He supervised construction of the external tanks for the space shuttle and was named a Top Ten federal employee in 1987.
Survivors include his wife Marlane.
Arrangements are by Schoen.
