SHHS gets big victory

The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans continued to fight to make the post-season in a very tough District 6-2A. They crushed the Lady Bulldogs of Ville Platte High Thursday with a 19-0 victory. The Lady Trojans improved to 8-6 on the year and 2-2 in district. The Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-5 on the year.

Sacred Heart scored six runs in the first inning, one in the second, three in the third and nine in the fourth frame. Six batters had a multiple hit game for the Lady Trojans. Courtney Ramirez led the way with a 4-5 performance at the plate with a double and two runs batted in. Sarah Dupre and Hannah Enicke were each 2-2 on the day. Enicke drove in three runs. Kinzey Franks and Shelby Fontenot were each 2-3 on the day. Fontenot drove in two runs. Samantha Davenport was 2-4 at the plate. She hit a solo home run in the top of third inning and finished the game with two RBIs.

Logan Hebert got the win in the circle. She hurled a no-hitter, fanned six batters and gave up only one base on balls.

Sacred Heart will hosted Mamou yesterday afternoon and will host Westminster on Tuesday.
