Former St. Landry registrar faces stalking charge

Former St. Landry Registrar of Voters, John A. Moreau , 52, or Arnaudville was charged with stalking Thurday by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena stated, “A complaint was filed with our office by the victim stating that Moreau had been continuously placing letters at her residence. Multiple letters had been discovered between the months of October 2013 and January 2014. The victim found the contents of the letters to be offensive, insulting and degrading. ”
Vizena said, “During the investigation, Moreau did admit to detectives to typing the letters and personally placing them at the victim’s residence.”
Presumably, the victim in this instance is the same woman who filed complaints of criminal damage against Moreau after he allegedly scraped her car with a key while it was parked on the courthouse parking lot.
That case led to Moreau's decision in January to resign his post.
