Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office are still seeking the whereabouts of Toby Celestine, 38, Lafayette, who last resided in the 400 block of Carter Street, Lafayette. He may also be in the St. Martinville area.
The Catahoula Volunteer Fire Department was broken into sometime between May 13, 2015 and May 15, 2015. A large amount of equipment amounting to several thousand dollars was stolen from the facility and information is being sought in connection with this break in.
Last month, due to high water from excessive rainfall, St. Martin Parish President Guy Cormier declared an emergency declaration for “No Wake” in the Stephensville and Belle River areas of lower St. Martin Parish.
Due to the current water level status, the No Wake Zone is being lifted.
Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Wednesday arrested a 55-year-old Catahoula man they say stole $50,000 worth of cypress lumber along with a utility trailer from a Catahoula residence two weeks ago.
