More arrests expected in cypress theft

Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Wednesday arrested a 55-year-old Catahoula man they say stole $50,000 worth of cypress lumber along with a utility trailer from a Catahoula residence two weeks ago.
David Latiolais, of the 1000 block of St. Rita Road, was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on two counts of felony theft.
Maj. Ginny Higgins, SMSO public information officer, said the incident remains under investigation and additional arrests are pending.
Latiolais turned himself into the sheriff’s office, Higgins said.
