Two children confirmed dead, one in critical condition

An early morning accident killed two children and seriously injured another this morning. According to LSP spokesman Jared Sandifer, three children were walking to school on Martin Street when they were struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. The vehicle continued after striking the children until the corner of Martin and Babineaux Streets where the driver was arrested and is currently in the custody of the Louisiana State Police.
