Priest enters not guilty plea here

The Rev. Felix David Broussard entered a not guilty plea to 20 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles during his arraignment in 16th Judicial District Court here Tuesday.
A trial date was set for Aug. 14.
Fr. Broussard, who was serving as pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge at the time of his arrest last year, was relieved of his duties and placed on administrative leave by Bishop J. Douglas Deshotels.
The Acadia Parish native has served as a diocesan priest for more than 20 years and was charged last July after the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit said they had found images of child pornography on Broussard’s personal computer which was kept in the St. Bernard rectory.
Fr. Broussard is being represented by Lafayette attorney Thomas Guilbeau.
