Job fair next week at Millenium Galvanizing

Millennium Galvanizing, a Crest Industries company, will conduct a three-day job fair for staffing its new Convent facility on Nov. 12-14 at the St. James Parish Courthouse, 5800 Louisiana Highway 44 (River Road).
Interested applicants must preregister online through www.crestoperations.com. Click on the red “Register for Millennium’s Job Fair” button on the website’s homepage. All candidates who pre-register and attend the event will be guaranteed an interview with a Crest Industries representative.
The job fair interviews will be conducted in the parish council chamber, located on the second floor of the St. James Parish Courthouse.
Interview sessions will take place at 7 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 and Friday, Nov. 13. On Saturday, Nov. 14, job fair interviews will be conducted at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
LED FastStart will support the job fair. The interview sessions will provide details about Crest Industries, Millennium Galvanizing and the galvanizing process, along with staffing plans for the facility.
Interviews will be held immediately after the information portion and will be held in order of registration.
Millennium Galvanizing furnishes galvanized protective coatings for utility poles and equipment in the electric utility and petrochemical industries. Though initially announced as a Tangipahoa Parish location, the final Millennium Galvanizing site was selected in Convent for better access to Crest Industries clients.
The job fair will seek applicants interested in skilled hourly positions at Millennium Galvanizing’s Convent facility. Positions include: quality assurance/quality control, forklift operators, pickle crane operators, galvanizing bow-ups, kettle lead men, kettle crane operators, sandblasters, painters, Class A commercial drivers, maintenance mechanics and general laborers. Wages are very competitive for the market. Millennium Galvanizing facility plans to hire 65 skilled employees in time for the company’s launch of commercial operations in January 2016. Hiring will begin following the job fair and a job-screening process for applicants, who will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
