Breaux Bridge philanthropist celebrated by CFA

is one of 14 philanthropists from eight parishes celebrated by the Community Foundation of Acadiana during its fifth annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon Nov. 3.
The event, held at the Cajundome Convention Center, recognized outstanding persons who have made a positive impact in their communities.
The others were Charlotte and Joe Freeland of Acadia Parish, Kermit and Sheila Miller of Evangeline Parish, Johnny and Cathy Indest of Iberia Parish, Paul Hilliard of Lafayette Parish, Pat and Alice Morrow of St. Landry Parish, Sylvia and Fulton C. “Butch” Felterman Jr. of St. Mary Parish, and Paul Patout and Patrick Patout of Vermilion Parish.
This year Corporate Awards were also presented to Cabot Corporation and Van Eaton and Romero, LLC, a Latter and Blum Company, two Acadiana companies with a long history of supporting many great causes in the community.
Short videos detailing the philanthropic nature of each awardee were shown at the luncheon.
Keynote speaker was Jim Parker, former CEO of Southwest Airlines and author of “Do the Right Thing: How Dedicated Employees Create Loyal Customers and Large Profits.”
Nominations for Leaders in Philanthropy Awards were submitted by the public and winners were selected by CFA’s Board of Directors Emeriti.
“We are very proud to showcase the generous spirit of Acadiana by recognizing these outstanding citizens from each parish,” said Raymond J. Hébert, president and CEO of CFA. “They are an inspiration and a reminder of the difference we can all make when we give back to our communities.”
