Board faces long, routine agenda

For their first meeting of the new school year members of the St. Martin School Board face a rather long, but mostly routine agenda.
A special meeting of the board’s finance committee is set for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Administrative Office on Corporate Boulevard, followed by the regular monthly meeting at 5 p.m.
The finance committee will review the system’s proposed 2015-16 budget and following a public hearing during the regular meeting the budget will be considered for formal adoption.
In addition to a number of routine items, today’s agenda also includes:
•Consider/accept bids for 1) lawn and grounds maintenance at the Administrative Office, 2) installation of store front doors and windows to enclose the covered area at the entrance of Cecilia High’s new multi-purpose building, 3) Cecilia Primary cooler/freezer renovations, 4) St. Martinville Sr. High concession stand and fencing, and 5) Cecilia High baseball field drainage.
•Consider authorizing superintendent to accept as substantially complete the St. Martinville Sr. High bleacher washing, Early Learning Center limestone and Breaux Bridge Primary limestone.
•Executive (secret) session to discuss action relative to threat of legal action by Safety National.
•At the request of Dist. 7 representative Richard Potier consider purchase of property adjacent to Teche Elementary.
•Consider salary policy for secretaries and bookkeepers.
•Presentation by County Agent regarding LSU AgCenter’s annual report.
•Presentation by Cian Robinson with the Lafayette General Medical Center Foundation regarding telemedicine.
•Designate Sept. 6-12 as Yellow Ribbon Suicide Awareness and Prevention Week.
