Master Gardener fall class of 2016

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications to participate in the Atchafalaya Chapter of the Louisiana Master Gardener Program.
The Louisiana Master Gardener is an LSU program that trains volunteers in horticulture by utilizing the latest research based information conducted at the LSU AgCenter.
Participants will learn a variety of information on several topics which include home gardening, vegetable production, fruit production, lawn care, ornamentals, and many others.
The Louisiana Master Gardener program is a training course designed to assist the Extension Agent transfer research based information about horticulture, gardening and related subjects to the public.
Acceptance into the Louisiana Master Gardener Program is based on your qualifications and the volunteer needs of the LSU AgCenter.
In exchange for the training provided in the Master Gardener Program, participants are required to volunteer 40 Hours of service within one year of completing the program.
The program will last a total of 14 weeks and participants will meet every Thursday beginning Aug. 18 and ending Nov. 17.
The cost to participate in the Atchafalaya Chapter of the Louisiana Master Gardener Program is $225. Deadline to submit applications is May 31.
