Following a series of pre-trial negotiations, all parties involved in the desegregation suit brought against the St. Martin School Board have agreed to a plan that would reconfigure Catahoula Elementary School, shift students between that community and St.
Due to the imminent threat of high water due to the recent Midwest floods, the boat launch located in Uncle Dick Davis Park in Butte La Rose will be closed until further notice.
The closure is only for Uncle Dick Davis Park and does not affect any other boat launches at this time.
Breaux Bridge – The Beaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce is honoring three men and one woman with family-owned businesses during the organization’s annual “Evening Extraordinaire,” the membership banquet and change-of-command, to be held at Pat’s Atchafalaya Club in Henderson Thursday, Jan. 21, with the social hour starting at 5:45 p.m.
The town council here voted to call a special election to approve the rededication of sales tax revenues.
At its Monday Jan. 11 meeting, the council scheduled a public vote for April 9. Mayor Sherbin Collette said that the measure, which will not change tax rates, will save residents from sewer bill rate hikes.
