On April 25, 1793, Pope Pius VI, created the Diocese of Louisiana of Louisiana and the Two Floridas, the second Roman Catholic diocese in the United States.
Baltimore, established in 1789, was the first in what is now the United States, but it did not have jurisdiction over the Louisiana territory.

My Easter weekend went well. Hope yours did too. Although I did not go to the St. Rita’s Way of the Cross walk on Good Friday. I have not missed that walk in many years. There will always be another one next year unless something unforeseen happens to take this right from us. You just never know these days.
