Sorry to be a complainer, because the mosquito sprayer has passed, but the critters are still awful. Not as bad, I will admit, but still it’s hard to sit outside unless the wind is blowing or you’re slathered with Off. It’s been pretty dry over here and I’d have thought the mosquitoes would not be so bad, but I guess that’s not true.

As a pastor I’ve dealt with parents who have prodigal children. Nothing is more gut-wrenching to a mom or dad than a child who turns their back on God and on their family and walks away ... usually down very destructive paths. But the worst pain is the lost love and stained relationship.

As I write this morning the outside temperature is in the high 60s, and a nice north wind is blowing. It’s wonderful! If we could just get rid of the mosquitoes life would be perfect. I’m wondering if the parish has not renewed the sprayer’s contract or something like that because he has not been coming by and it really makes a difference.
