Great Bayou Teche Dog Paddle this Saturday

Saturday the Great Bayou Teche Dog Paddle, a fund-raiser for St. Martin Parish Animal Services, will be on Bayou Teche from Breaux Bridge to Parks.
Registration is just $25 per paddler.

It's an eight-mile fun race with dogs aboard, if you choose. Registration is 6-8 a.m., with the starting gun at 9 a.m.

The competition is for the unique Tour du Teche paddle trophies and bragging rights. The dogs all seem to enjoy the scenery.

The race begins at Parc des Ponts de Pont Breaux, adjacent to St. Bernard School, and ends at Cecile Rousseau Poché Memorial Park in Parks.

The event is a project of Tour du Teche, Inc., sponsored by Teche Federal Bank, Chevron, Cypress Bayou Casino and Shorty’s, Cargill Salt, Pellerin Funeral Homes, and Teche News.
