Cade native debuts play at the Heymann Center

Jeremy Cormier, a native of St. Cade and graduate of St. Thomas More, will return to Acadiana Sunday, Oct. 25, for the debut of his star-studded stage play, “Even A Good Man Is Tempted.”
For one night only, Cormier, who is both playwright and director, presents in conjunction with The James Brown Foundation the hometown premiere at the Heymann Performance Arts Center at 3 p.m.
“Good Man” is about a successful attorney, Adam, who is finally realizing he may be alone for the rest of his life. Based on the Biblical story of Adam and Eve, this Adam becomes tempted to abandon his usual good behavior to venture on the wild side.
The cast includes R&B singer-songwriter Shirley Murdock, Dorien Wilson (Professor Oglivee on the sitcom “The Parkers”) and Denzel Wells (America’s Next Top Model and Travis In Tyler Perry’s “If Loving You Is Wrong.”)
Cormier, who lives in Atlanta, is a graduate of
Morehouse College and South University. His first live theater production at Heymann Center was “Be Careful What You Pray For” starring Shirley Murdock.
Shortly after that, Cormier got a phone call to assist on a play in Atlanta entitled “The Life Story of Marvin Gaye.” He has worked on several projects over the last 10 years with such organizations as the late James Brown’s Family Foundation, Morehouse College Community Service Day and the children of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cormier has worked on projects with such artists as Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, and T.I.
