Michael Bolton Live at L’Auberge
Some artists have it… Some artists bring it… And Some artists give it – all that they have.
On a special Saturday night in February, Michael Bolton did everything right. His show was welcomed by a capacity crowd at L’Auberge Casino in Baton Rouge.
Michael has always balanced a love for writing new songs with a passion for covering the classics. During his show, he sang both to the delight of the crowd.
I was amazed by the diversity of age groups in the crowd. There were 20-somethings on up to 80-somethings. They were all there for one reason: they love Michael Bolton.
He did not disappoint. He opened with the Bee Gees classic “To Love Somebody.” His rendition of “Dock of the Bay” was absolutely great.
In between songs, Michael would chat with the audience. He told stories of his not-so-overnight career. But the one thing that came through with each and every tale, was his love for music and his fans.
He covered a blues number in the show. The song was “Sweet Home Chicago.” Bolton, showed us all why he is such a diverse entertainer. Another highlight of the show was his rendition of the Bob Dylan composition, “To Make You Feel My Love.” He did it as a duet with a young lady that is one of his back up singers.
For me, my favorite song of the night was “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You.” His voice is absolutely spot on!
On one of the more exciting moments, Bolton popped up in the audience and sang “When A Man Love A Woman.” The audience was his for the night. From the first note until the last, Mr. Bolton had us all in the palm of his hand. We all experienced what happens when you have a great concert at a great venue like L’Auberge Casino.
It was memorable and moving. My wife and I were thoroughly entertained. Michael Bolton gave us a night to remember!
