New Beginning Church of Breaux Bridge food giveaway has grown

On Friday, March 7, New Beginning Church of Breaux Bridge gave food to help the needy of St. Martin Parish.

Over 600 people were served and more then 25,000 pounds of food given out.

“The families received spiritual food as well as food for the physical body,” said Angel Venable, one of the organizers.

Deadline to enter St. Martinville Clean City poster contest March 21

Entries in the 2014 Cleanest City Poster Contest, hosted by the City of St. Martinville and the St. Martinville Garden Club, must be submitted to City Hall by Friday, March 21, no later than 4 p.m.

Posters must focus on the winning slogan: “Let’s Fight to Keep our Community Clean.”
